Dear Hearts: 

When the soul of man who has sought for God for many centuries, through many paths kneels before the Silent Altar within, where the Father is everpresent, and asks for that selfless union with Divinity, the Holy Christ Self of that soul knows  that the Journeying through the Earth-lives is almost over. 

The soul, in that upward reaching, has cried out in hunger for the fullness of the Father's Light, and in the quiet of that contemplative period, the strength of that soul has made known its wants even as an infant's cry makes known its hunger. 

The Great White Brotherhood, however, knows that the strength of that soulcry has made all of the energy of the lifestream onepointed in that upreaching and that in the passage of the soul into the daily activities of life the concentrated energy could not keep burning the full Flame within that desire, but that the dissipation of that energy would cause the energy to recede until the mass pressure of the outer thought and feeling of the race would soon engulf it.

It is for this reason, then, that the Great White Brotherhood has provided a means for sustaining the Flame of the individual when seeking, and all the strength of that soulcry is enfolded in the love and life of the Ascended Master whose Flame and Ray encircles that aspiration, and who gives his energy to it while the lifestream is about the business of the outer world. This Cosmic Ray enfolding the aspiration of the student is his protection throughout all his future seeking and helps him through the veil into the victory of his Ascension. 

Many people of Earth have not yet been so blessed because the voluntary call of the soul for God has not come from their hearts, and they are those "who rest by the wayside". Most of them are those of the tranquil faces and peaceful hearts who seem to move in an orbit of sunshine, whereas the harassed spirits flying by them are those within the grasp of the Celestial Spirits who are drawing the reluctant ones HOME. 

May of my struggling chelas have often wondered at the peace of the former, but that peace, beloved, is only until their hour shall come.
