Beloved Chelas: 

During the year of 1963 we have given to you the opportunity that we, and you, too, might see the Inner strength of your Inner Spirit in climbing (seemingly alone) the Pathway of Light. 

The great majority of you, my chelas, through suffering, the overcoming of temptations and inner individual conflicts, have achieved a tremendous understanding in your Mental Bodies. This makes each one of you a fine instrument for expanding the Law, but, like so many scholars, you have yet to learn that the greatest part of the work is in using the Sacred Fire through your Inner bodies to prepare the ground for the seed.

The average scholar is like a man planting a field without first ploughing, harrowing and fertilizing the Earth. 

The contact of the Holy Christ Self of the individual and the Invocation to the Unseen Powers should precede the daily contemplation period in order to facilitate the proper planting of the seed in fertile ground. Then using instructions of the Light - such as my humble words, perhaps, as the seed, and meditating upon them until they blossom in your life, you will be amazed at the great progress you can make in developing your spiritual sinews by yourself. 

Sturdy is the tree which has strength enough to stand alone, without leaning on its neighbors for protection. So, my beloved, let us see your Spiritual Light guide your footsteps through this good year of 1964. The experiences of this life are like a second among the great experiences of your Spirit through millions of years. The Cosmic Freedom of your soul is so great a gift in comparison to the temporary agony of your personal self that I would that you could rise into a fuller comprehension of the glory that you shall experience for eternity, and know that this short period of waiting is but that the remaining dross must be burned away before the coming of your glorious Eternal Day.
