Beloved Ones: 

Individuals, who come to a point in Earth's experience wherein their outer consciousness desires more than the passing fantasy presented as life, come under the direction of some Member of the Spiritual Hierarchy who takes the responsibility of unfolding as much or as little Truth as their aspiration warrants. 

People whose Earth life warrants a certain percentage of happiness, health and security ofttimes are content to enjoy that happiness without much thought as to the purpose for existence. It is for this reason that the Holy Christ Self and the Lords of Karma arrange the experience life so that a return of a certain percentage of the energy misqualified in the past will prod them from their contentment into deeper thought, with the hope that such thought will invoke an answer from the Universal Law. Thus karma, suffering and temporary distress ofttimes form the opening wedge through which the Light of Spiritual Understanding may enter the soul, and the soul in reaching forth either for comfort or for an understanding as to the cause behind its temporary distress grows thereby. 

If the average individual were allowed to pass through life without suffering the return of a percentage of his misqualified energy, he would be content to experience the small Earthy span and accept that as the ultimate of bliss and perfection. Therefore the Cosmic Law will not allow karma to be transcended until the soul within is awakened to the Truth as regards his own identity, his relation to the Universe, and his obligation to harmoniously qualify the life endowed to him to expand the Father's Kingdom. 

Individuals often say that in a God that is merciful and loving, he could not allow the recoil of man's ignorant misdoings to return upon them, but would rather balance those misdoings by his love. This is a shortsighted thought, because the individual consciousness can only grow by the experiences recorded in itself through the action and reaction of energy patterns. 

In the case of a chela - one who has consciously entered the Path, the flail of karma need no longer prod him toward Truth, and although he may take some time to transcend the Karmic Law, he is not required to meet every ounce of energy he has misused - for he has the action of the Law of Forgiveness, the Violet Fire, and all the Purifying Activities of the Sacred Fire at his disposal.
