Activity and Rest
Beloved Holy Ĉolus

My beloved children assembled in this Holy Sanctuary and all others who are tuning in to the Feast of Pentecost, I greet you in deep Love and I enfold you in a mantle of the glorious Peace associated particularly with the celebration of Whitsuntide.
I have come from Celestial Heights to the Focus at Ceylon, to be with my son, Beloved Paul, the Maha Chohan, and it is our great privilege to accelerate the activity of Pentecost (the White Sunday) or Whitsuntide in those religions that honor this particular day - we exclude none and thus all the evolutions of this Earth shall be the recipients of the expanded Essence of the Holy Spirit today.
You, dear ones, should be particularly aware of the activity of Pentecost, because you have received, permit me to say, lavish blessings from Beloved Paul and my humble self, who represent the office of the Cosmic Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit to the Earth. O, feel the Love with which we enfold you and again I say that you should be cognizant that every second of your life the Holy Spirit is descending into your beings, giving you Life through the Sacred Breath, and as that Prana flows through you and is blessed by the qualification you put upon it, it is your opportunity to dispense the Elixir of the Holy Spirit to all Life. Can you not see why we continually counsel you to guard your feelings and to send the breath forth as a blessing at all times? The wise chela contemplates the Code of Conduct for a Disciple of the Holy Spirit which I personally gave to you to assist you on your forward path in the Light!
Sitting in the library at our Focus in Ceylon with which I am so familiar, I said to the Beloved Paul, "these chelas are well acquainted with the activity of the original Pentecost, so I believe I shall discourse on the subject of activity and rest (day and night) the balancing activity which is required for the functioning of all Life", so I shall proceed along that line.
Each Universe goes through the period of mastering energy through creation and then in completion rests within the fullness and Life of God. To use the word 'rest' implies a passive state to many which cannot truly or accurately be a descriptive phrase relating to the completed Universes that, pulsating within their own Light, lie serene in the bosom of the Universal Father-Mother God and are, in a Cosmic capacity like unto the soul which, completing its Earth journey, comes 'home' to go out no more. Yet that soul in the freedom of the Ascension, although knowing complete rest (not inertia) in action is in an entirely different vibratory action than the one that yet wrestles with the seemingly endless circles of Causes and Effects, which experiences bring Mastery, Illumination and Freedom in their wake.
This young Universe of which the planet Earth is one member is in the course of its 'Day' period, and every Planet and Star and intelligent particle of Life that belongs to it feels the pressure of the Energy from the Supreme Source of all Life coming outward and seeking expression, manifestation and externalization. One day when the Universe in its fullness to the very last Star, has reached the periphery of a yet wholly indescribable vibration, it will become the order for every bit of Life within the periphery of this great Universe.
This is exactly as the human life should be. The earlier years when the body energy drives through the organism in order to develop a mature human form, and the emotional reactions and capacities of the later years when, the growth accomplished, the consciousness is willing and desirous of resting serene in its full majority, allowing its energy to flow backward to its very Source instead of beating out to the end of the aura to make the sphere of influence felt and known in the pressure of becoming.
The relentless drive of the Energy of Life is something that mankind has not even vaguely understood, and the attempted resistance of the will and the self against that drive has been the cause of so much of the unhappiness and the frustration and the delay in the full Perfection of the Plan of the Universal Whole.
I shall take a very simple example which I trust will bring to your consciousness a slight concept of the fringe of your selfhood. When an infant is born and the body is entirely helpless in all its members, unable to maintain balance through the extremity of the legs, nor is it able to grasp with the hand any object for a definite and constructive action, just using these faculties blindly and seemingly unconsciously, yet, there is an Invisible Force that continues to drive itself through the extremities of the body, building muscular control and developing the form without either the conscious cooperation of the infant nor the understanding of the parent or guardian. Now if this drive were not continued, the soul would only have a supine, infantile and helpless body that in itself would not grow beyond twelve to fifteen inches in its length.
Now this same powerful Energy Drive is constantly pulsating from the center of the Earth through the Planet with the same precision and the same intelligent definite and detailed purpose, and it is also active within the soul-life of the people.
When the Cosmic Day is completed, and there is not one more soul who has yet to grow in stature, that drive will cease as it ceases in a mature man or woman, and in that hour the course of the Cosmic Day when the great half cycle upward is completed, the Universe in the second half of its expression knows maturity and complete freedom from restlessness.
Although this period is yet in the far distant future, because there are other Planets and Stars that have not even yet begun to evolve their conscious life in our particular Universal Scheme, yet it is nice to know where we stand in the evolutionary scheme of things, and also to know that each Planet individually passes through the same series of initiations as well as the entire Universe, and that our Planet Earth is coming now within a century or two of this maturing experience.
I believe the foregoing will give you some food for thought, and will assist you to realize to some degree the magnitude of the precision and accuracy of the Cosmic Plan in evolving Universes. And, you perhaps will understand that every release we give to you contains a specific Lesson.
