BELOVED ONES:

Under the old occult law, which was set aside some time ago, karma was accepted as an indisputable part of the heritage of the lifestream, or the nation, or the race. The inner causes set up in the realm of thought and feeling, which produced upon the screen of maya the discordant, inharmonious manifestations, not only in the race, but in the lives of the aspirants and chelas, were recognized as focuses of energy which had to spill their substance into the life experience of their creators in order to purify the inner realm of consciousness before the Christ Presence could be entertained or sustained there. In other words, the sediment had to be cleaned out before the pure could come in. Those aspirants and chelas - the early Christian martyrs welcomed affliction as a sign of Grace and favor of God, knowing that their lifestreams were being purged more quickly of their iniquities of the past in preparation for the entrance of the new life which would be their spiritual redemption. 

While it is true that until every inner cause has either expressed as an effect or been removed by the Sacred Fire of Transmutation from the lifestream, there is a constant possibility that in time of stress, strain, or interruption of the Light, there will be externalized the Effect of that Cause. The occult law was set aside with the inception of the Age of Freedom. Students who had embodied and studied under the old law were hesitant to interfere with karma, and for them this new dispensation has been most difficult to accept, for it seems to contradict the early teaching that one should suffer his karma in joy and submission. New students (not burdened by these beliefs) welcome the dispensation of Mercy, and have, therefore, benefited more fully by it than the more advanced students of the old order. 

Cause is set up at the moment when thought and feeling meet. Every member of the human race, consciously or unconsciously, is using thought and feeling all the time. These inner causes are catapulted into the world of effect as limitation, disease, worry, and so on. The cause, at inner levels, is a vibration of energy pulsating at a certain rate; the length of the ray, the speed of the vibration, and the amount of energy within the initial cause determines the effect. That is why all imperfection is the result of inner thought and feeling - which creates a certain vibratory action that continues to act until all the energies that were put into the cause through the first thought and feeling, and the repetition of that thought and feeling, have spent themselves. 

The drawing of the Sacred Fire of Transmutation into all imperfect causes changes the vibratory action in the energy behind the imperfect manifestation. In this way, conditions may not only be healed temporarily, but completely removed from the lifestream and replaced by Cosmic Cause at inner levels, which will bring only effects of a perfect nature.
